Our experience

We both played ice hockey. And we both had the same problem: Every mouthguard was either too thick, constantly slipped out, or pressed so hard on our gums that we chewed on it or didn't wear it at all.

The alternative from the dentist? A perfect fit, but simply not affordable for hundreds of euros.

So we did what many athletes do: We lived with it. Until we eventually said: There must be a better way.

The Discovery

Thomas played college ice hockey in America and there he tried a mouthguard for the first time that actually worked. Thin, lightweight fit, no pressure - exactly what we had been looking for all along. The problem? Nothing like it was available in Europe.

So we brought the idea with us. We wanted a better-fitting mouthguard so that athletes could fully concentrate on their breathing, communication, and game. A mouthguard that naturally conforms to the teeth and offers a custom-made feel, but is accessible at a fraction of the price.

We are an Austrian company, founded by two brothers who themselves played ice hockey and know exactly what it's like when equipment doesn't fit. Even though we have our products manufactured internationally to keep GrindTime affordable, we focus on sustainability: material-saving design and sustainable packaging to protect the environment.
